When to visit a walk-in centre

Walk-in centres are for patients who need treatment for common illness and conditions that are too urgent to wait for a GP appointment but are not a medical emergency including:

  • ear, nose and throat problems
  • sprains and strains
  • wound infections
  • minor burns and scalds
  • minor head injuries
  • skin conditions
  • minor respiratory conditions
  • mild abdominal pain or discomfort
  • insect and animal bites and stings
  • minor eye problems
  • minor injuries to the back, shoulder and chest
  • emergency contraception

Open every day (including bank holidays) as follows:

  • Monday to Friday – 9.00am to 8.00pm
  • Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays – 10.00am to 6.00pm

The walk-in centre does not treat babies under the age of one, or patients with pregnancy related illnesses. The centre does not offer a routine wound care or re-dressing service.
