When to visit an urgent treatment centre

If you need medical help but it’s not an emergency then an urgent treatment centre might be the best place for you. Urgent treatment centres provide treatment for minor injuries and illnesses that are urgent but not life or limb threatening, including:

  • cuts and grazes
  • sprains and strains
  • suspected broken bones
  • wounds and wound infections
  • minor burns and scalds
  • minor head, back or eye injuries
  • insect and animal bites
  • skin infections, rashes or allergic reactions
  • urine infections
  • raised temperature (a fever)

Urgent treatment centres are open every day including bank holidays. If you call 111 or visit the website 111.nhs.uk first, you may be able to pre-book an appointment at an urgent care centre. This could be more convenient for you than walking in and waiting to be seen. Find your nearest urgent treatment centre below:

  • Saturday, Sunday and Monday – open 8.00am to 12.00am (midnight)
  • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday – open 9.00am to 9.00pm
