Final thoughts
This strategy won’t succeed unless everyone plays their part. We need to embed behaviours, encourage conversations and live the culture we want to see.
You said, we heard
- You said you didn’t like the word equality. We recognise that equality means different things to different people but we heard this and are using the word equity.
- You said fairness was really important to you. We heard this and called it an equity and fairness strategy.
- You said we should only focus on a few priorities and do them well. We heard and will identify a maximum of three objectives for each year.
- You said you wanted the strategy to create a meaningful impact on your experiences. We have included a specific objective focused on measuring outcomes effectively.
- You said various aspects of your lives influence your health. We are committed to advancing social justice and addressing the broader determinants of health.
- You said there is some positive work already underway in certain areas that we should not lose. We will both build on these successes, and explore innovative approaches, recognising that meaningful change requires us to think and act differently.
