The Serious Violence Duty means that councils and local services work together to share information and target interventions to prevent and reduce serious violence. Tackling serious violence across West Yorkshire and beyond is high on the agenda of our Adversity, Trauma and Resilience Programme run jointly with the West Yorkshire Violence Reduction Partnership (VRP).
The Strategic Needs Assessment for the West Yorkshire VRP provides an evidence-based public health assessment of serious violence in the county. It does this by identifying, defining and analysing the underlying drivers of violence particular to the region.
The Influential Factors report* provides a contextual understanding to the landscape of serious violence in West Yorkshire and supports organisations with their needs assessments.

The Response Strategy, provides a West Yorkshire framework for preventing and reducing serious violence. It helps to place the right resources in the right places at the right times.
