This winter, dial NHS 111 in West Yorkshire for 24/7 crisis mental health support
Millions of people experiencing a mental health crisis can now benefit from support through the NHS 111 service mental health option. The NHS 111 number is a universal point of access for people of all ages experiencing mental health crisis, ensuring that anyone can call NHS 111 for themselves or someone else and have 24/7 access to the mental health support they need in the community.
If you, or someone you’re worried about, needs urgent care or treatment for a mental health crisis dial 111 and select the mental health option. Trained mental health professionals will listen to your concerns and help you get the support you need.
111 is not an emergency service. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, call 999.
You may be familiar with other mental health services operating across West Yorkshire. Established mental health helpline numbers for services such as the West Yorkshire 24-hour mental health helpline on 0800 183 0558 (adults), First Response in Bradford District and Craven on 0800 952 1181 (all ages), and NightOwls (children, young people, their families and carers) 0800 1488244; text 07984376950, will continue to be open.

- People living in Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield can find help and support online from Choose Well, provided by the South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
- Children and young people living in Wakefield can find support and resources online from WF I Can, in Calderdale from Open Minds and in Kirklees children’s emotional health and wellbeing, as well as mental health provision are supported through the Kirklees Keep in Mind service.
- In Wakefield, Here For You also offer telephone support on 07776 962 815 from 6pm on the night you need support
- People living in Leeds can find help and support online from our trusted partners at MindWell (for adults) and MindMate (for children and young people).
- People living in Bradford District and Craven can find help and support online from Healthy Minds. Safe Spaces referrals are also available via Guide-Line.
