What is a community of practice?
A community of practice involves a group of people, who share a common concern or interest in a specific topic or issue, working together to improve knowledge, share best practice and achieve fulfilment of individual and shared goals. Communities of practice aid collective learning encourage innovation and create a support network for members.
Here, at the Partnership, we recognise the significant value that communities of practice can bring and have established a number of these, on various crucial policy areas including refugee and asylum seeker health, embedding a public health approach in policing, reducing serious violence and tackling inequalities, mental health and preconception and early years.
