Photo of a female resident in a care home talking to a female nurseTytoCare Ltd. has been instrumental in the growth of digital health solutions.
The company has developed TytoCare, a hand-held device and app that connects with a patient’s clinician for an on-demand assessment, diagnosis, and prescription if needed, anytime, anywhere.

The Yorkshire & Humber Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) is working with Kirklees Clinical Commissioning Group and Kirklees Council to introduce the award winning TytoCare into a number of care homes in the area. This medical exam kit is now being used in the first of these care homes, allowing more residents to be assessed without the need to leave their home.

Care home staff can use the secure portal to refer patient details to a clinician who can review, triage and refer the patient appropriately and effectively. This is already making a real impact on the residents of this first care home and will offer the same for care home residents across the region as it is rolled out over the coming months.

Better-informed remote clinical decision making ultimately means safer, greener, more accessible and convenient healthcare – and people can stay in familiar surroundings too.

This is just one of dozens of remote monitoring pilot programmes being rolled-out across the region by the Yorkshire & Humber AHSN.
