Our approach
The following resources have been selected by our experts as representing best practice and being accessible to all our health and care colleagues. They have been brought together to support health and wellbeing with a focus on all areas of life, care, and work. This is a longer term offer, with the intention to sustain beyond Covid-19. It recognises that we are all individuals and may require different support at different points, during these challenging times.
This model describes the three areas of support which are self, team and others - all covered by this health and wellbeing framework which shows the key principles and resources at a glance.
Self – mindfulness, resilience toolkits, time to talk ideas, exercise classes
Team – daily huddles / wellbeing space / room and the PIES principle
Others – external support – local and national
Monthly spotlight
For January 2021, our spotlight continues to focus on
preventing burnout. Even though a vaccination programme is underway, the challenges of Covid-19 go on and will continue to impact on the health and wellbeing of our workforce. These short wellbeing videos have been recorded to help support us as we look after ourselves, and our colleagues, over the next few months.

There's a new FREE national offer designed to support your mental health and to help employers manage the wellbeing of their staff during the coronavirus outbreak. This information slide outlines which of the national health and wellbeing offers are available to DHSC (social care and care home) staff. There's also a new section on the People site for DHSC here.
