Our West Yorkshire Adversity, Trauma and Resilience (ATR) Programme has been recognised in a new Home Office publication which aims to share practice among violence reduction units and partners to develop and embed trauma-informed practice. The ATR Programme is co-produced by over 500 professionals and people across all five places in West Yorkshire. Examples of recent activities include:
- producing trauma-informed coproduction guidance
- commissioning insight reports such as the adversity, trauma and resilience in West Yorkshire – a review of life-course evidence, approaches and trauma-informed education settings insight guidance
- developing trauma-informed services and support for adults facing multiple disadvantage in HMP Leeds and with West Yorkshire Police
- appointing Adversity, Trauma and Resilience Fellows as part of our Improving Population Health Fellowship
- commissioning and developing Adversity Trauma and Resilience Navigators in A&E: Calderdale and Huddersfield Foundation Trust
- increasing capacity, capability, and knowledge through our annual Knowledge Exchanges, education awareness weeks and online hub
- delivering trauma-informed training to thousands of multi-agency professionals
- developing a West Yorkshire Charter and readiness checklist so organisations can commit to be trauma informed
