Twin sisters Rochelle and Elise Featherstone from the West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership are Regional Champions in ‘The NHS Rising Star Award’ in the NHS Parliamentary Awards.
They were shortlisted for their dedication in raising awareness of type 1 diabetes and highlighting the benefits of new technology to help young people living with diabetes, not just within their area of work but nationally too. They were finalists at last night’s NHS Parliamentary Awards held in Westminster.
Graduate Digital Project Manager, Elise and Graduate Business Change Manager, Rochelle, work for the West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership (WYHCP) as part of the digital programme.
Not only have they donated a great deal of their own time to raising awareness of diabetes, but they have openly shared their own personal experiences of living with type 1 diabetes and the technology that helps them manage it better in everyday life, in the hope it will reassure and help other young people enjoy a better life managing their diabetes.
Cathy Elliott, Chair of the West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board, said: “We are extremely proud of Elise and Rochelle for their well-deserved recognition as Regional Champions in the NHS Parliamentary Awards. Their commitment and support in raising awareness of type 1 diabetes with young people is thoroughly inspiring and admirable.”
