NHS clinicians and specialists working in community voluntary services across West Yorkshire have come together to create a campaign that promotes children and young people’s mental health and emotional wellbeing.
The campaign, “Let’s Connect”, provides insight for parents, carers and others about how to respond and support their child or young person, as well as helping young people to provide peer to peer support using their own ideas and tips under three themes – Safe Base, You’re Enough and We Hear You.
Helen Ioannou, Service Director, Mind in Bradford and Senior Responsible Officer, West Yorkshire Children and Young People Mental Health Programme said:
“This exciting campaign has been developed as part of our commitment to improve children and young people's wellbeing across West Yorkshire.
They provide a universal resource to be used by all children and families, regardless of their experiences or needs, nurturing resilience, hope, and a sense of agency. Additionally, these resources will help professionals effectively engage with children and families, fostering trust and understanding, and leading to positive outcomes.
Through these communications, we aim to empower children, families, and professionals alike, reminding them of their intrinsic worth, the importance of connection, being heard and feeling safe.”
