The Improving Population Health Programme Board met on Thursday afternoon, 13 July. Items for discussion included the operating model future planning and governance. Members discussed our responsibilities around the serious violence duty which requires local services to work together to share information and target interventions to prevent and reduce serious violence.
There was an update around dentistry and oral health, now our Integrated Care Board has taken on responsibility for commissioning dental services across West Yorkshire. Members heard how oral health and access to dental services remains a significant concern for both adults and children, in being able to register with an NHS dentist and also accessing appointments and treatment when registered. Members supported the recommendations agreed by the Integrated Care Board in May and committed to delivering our ambitions around improving oral health. This includes scaling up evidence-based practice on prevention, contributing to oral health data collection and progressing conversations on fluoridation.
Other items included the publication of the Improving Population Health Programme Annual Report 2022-23; the refreshed Green Plan 2022-2025 which describes the actions that we will take in the next three years to tackle carbon emissions and the your home your choice rightsizing campaign which encourages people to find a home that’s right for them now and in the future.
