Our Unpaid Carers Programme has been shortlisted for a HSJ award for the hard work of partners and colleagues and their commitment to support the 260,000 carers across West Yorkshire and Harrogate.
A key part of the programmes is to bring together commissioners (who buy health services), care providers, councils, the NHS, communities and carers to support their needs better now and in the future.
The work of the programme builds on the great work taking place in Bradford District and Craven; Calderdale, Harrogate, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakefield with most importantly local carers – the programme aims to share and spread good practice for the benefit of people who care for loved ones, friends and neighbours day in and day out, 365 days a year .
