Questions and public deputations during the pre-election period

The Cabinet Office issued pre-election guidance in the run-up to the General Election on 12 December 2019. During the pre-election period, specific restrictions are placed on the use of public resources and the communication activities of public bodies, civil servants and local government officials.  

As a result, we have taken a different approach to public questions at this meeting:

• Questions can be submitted in advance, but we will not take questions or statements from members of public during the meeting.
• We will acknowledge any questions that have been received at the start of the meeting.
• We will not attempt to answer any questions in the meeting. We will let people know that we will answer them in writing and post our responses on the website.
