Our Health Inequalities Academy is a collaborative approach to help close the health and wellbeing gap across West Yorkshire.
Initially, we launched the academy in response to the Covid-19 pandemic which brought a sharper focus on inequalities in our communities, along with a demand for work at scale and pace to improve the lives of people living across our area.
The first Academy took place from 3 to 5 February 2021. Colleagues heard from local and national speakers about the work taking place, before and during Covid-19, to address health inequalities.
We held our two-day virtual event to celebrate the one year anniversary of the Health Inequalities Academy on 21 and 22 June 2022. See the event brochure for 2022 for a list of all the speakers and workshops. We held our second year anniversary event on 8 and 9 November 2023.
See our news and blogs, communities of practice and resources and publication pages to keep uo to date with how we are tackling health inequalities.
You can also sign up to our health inequalities portal which brings together guidance, case studies, publications, videos and more.
