Have your say
We are currently working to improve the pelvic health care that you receive from the NHS during, and after, pregnancy. To help us do this work, we are seeking feedback from women and birthing people who are pregnant, have given birth, and women and birthing people who have had experience of pelvic health issues during, or after, pregnancy.
The results of this survey will be used by your local service to understand what we are doing right and how we can improve. The feedback will be used to help develop our new perinatal pelvic health service that will be beginning in Spring 2025.
What is perinatal pelvic health?
Pelvic health problems may include leaking urine (pee) and / or stool (poo), prolapse (bulging or swelling), injuries and infection in the area between the vagina and anus, pelvic girdle pain (pain in the pelvic area and / or back), and abdominal rectus diastasis (tummy muscle separation).
Who will we speak to?
We are hoping to hear from as many women and birthing people as possible about their experience of NHS care when seeking help for a pelvic health problem, during, or after pregnancy.
What and how will we ask?
The survey asks women and birthing people using the service to tell us the information and support they received about possible pregnancy related pelvic health problems, as well as their experiences of the support received for a pelvic health problem.
We are collecting feedback by using a survey. This is available electronically, as well as in paper format. Paper copies and alternative formats of the survey are also available on request.
Fill out the online survey. You can also download a copy of the paper survey.
What will we do?
We will review the feedback we receive and consider any main themes to help shape, or make improvements to, the service from Spring 2025. Following the end of the survey, we will write a report about what people told us. We will add the report to this page, and it will feed into plans for the new service.
How can you help?
We can’t improve local services without your help. Be sure to use NHS.uk for helpful information on maintaining your pelvic health.
