Consultation is the formal process and takes place, usually after initial involvement. Formal consultation is carried out if a change is ‘significant’. This is determined where the proposal or plan is likely to have a substantial impact. For the NHS this means we involve our Local Authority Overview and Scrutiny Committees in assuring the involvement we undertake as part of consultation on change, wether this is of a service (s) or policy.
We are also committed to ensuring that our delivery of involvement and consultation meets the needs of people living in West Yorkshire. No major decision will be made about changes to health care services that you receive without us asking you about it first. It's important that you have your say to shape and improve local services.
Consultation is just one form of involvement.
