The West Yorkshire & Harrogate Local Maternity and Neonatal System supports the seven Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership groups across our system to transform our maternity and neonatal services together.
Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnerships (MNVP) is a team of women and their families, commissioners and providers (midwives and doctors) working together to review and contribute to the development of local maternity and neonatal care.
There is ongoing work to ensure MNVPs across the system are adequately resourced so they can deliver all that is asked of them including listening to and responding to the needs of neonatal families.
National Maternity and Neonatal Voices provide support and advice to local service user leads of MNVPs. National MNVPs promotes awareness of good practice in setting up and developing MNVPs among commissioners and provider staff of maternity services in England. This is to ensure:
- Every woman on the maternity pathway has a chance to have her voice heard about the service she is receiving through an MNVP
- Every MNVP is adequately resourced to engage in true co-production of maternity services
- Local MNVP chairs and service user members feel networked and supported in their role
- MNVPs are involved in work in their local communities and also represented at Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS) level
